What is it?

CodeHers is hosting its very first Hackathon! CodeHers Hack! will be an exciting multi-day coding event, characterized by a major coding project, optional coding workshops, games, and several informative webinars + panels to sign up for. This event is completely free!

When is it?

CodeHers Hack! will take place ONLINE April 3th-5th, 2021, 11AM-7PM EST!

Who can attend?

This event is geared towards middle to highschool girls, ages 13+.

Submitting to this hackathon could earn you:

Eligibility

Any female or nonbinary (trans inclusive) student who is age 13+. Beginners are welcome and highly encourage to participate! There are no geographical restrictions :)

Requirements

Project Submission Criteria

  • A link to your project's source code and final product (and/or prototype). While you are allowed to submit a prototype, keep in mind that we do judge on functionality.
  • Projects must be started and completed this weekend only. No submitting past projects.
  • Cross submitting to other hackathons is allowed, but make sure the other hackathon you're submitting to also allows it.
  • Submit a 3 minute demo video showing us what your project does and how you built it. We will only view the first 3 minutes if your demo video exceeds the maximum.
  • When submitting on Devpost, indicate which track your project falls under:
    • Best Game
    • Best Website
    • Best Mobile App
    • Best Web app with Qoom
    • Best Echo AR Hack
    • Best ML hack with Sashido
    • Best Duo Hack (2 person teams only)

Judging Criteria

  • Presentation
    Were they able to successfully display their project in the presentation?
  • Focus on Theme
    Does the product address the prompt?
  • Creativity/ Originality
    Does the product introduce a new approach or perspective, technical, analytical, or visual?
  • Technical Complexity
    Does the product function as intended? Is it robust and easy to interact with?
  • Design
    Is the product aesthetically pleasing? Does the design of the product elevate its message?
